St Andrew’s School for Girls celebrated Founders’ Day
On Tuesday, 22 January St Andrew’s School for Girls celebrated our annual Founders’ Day and the school’s 117th birthday. Venerable Moses Thabethe led the service, reminding us to build carefully on the foundation that was laid. Mrs Acquisto and the grade representatives introduced the school community to the 6 strategic visions going forward.
The 6 visions are:
- Whole Girl Development
- Innovation in Learning and Teaching
- Diversity, Inclusion and Cohesiveness
- Embracing our Role in Local and Global Communities
Our school enjoyed entertainment from the Junior and senior school choirs, marimba band and staff choir.
The service ended with cutting the giant birthday cake with the youngest girl in grade 0, Yihan Liu and our head girl Njeri Kiambati, and singing happy birthday. On this occasion, Ven Thabethe also blessed our new buildings: the single staff accommodation and the tuckshop.
