Monument and Garsfontein produced a feast of running rugby
Monument and Garsfontein produced a 99-point feast of running rugby in Krugersdorp on Saturday, with Monument ending up 68-31 winners in a Tuks Series clash.
They scored 10 tries to Garsfontein’s five, which gave them the win with two bonus points that they needed to get through to the final of the competition where they will meet Menlo Park (on May 9th).
It was an impressive performance from Monument, and a warning to the other teams that they will be facing later in the season. Their forwards dominated completely, starving Garsfontein of possession and their backs ran in some spectacular tries.
Their captain, Morne Brandon was the outstanding player on view. He led by example, getting stuck in everywhere, and he scored two of his side’s tries.
