Christ Church Prep & College wishes teacher a happy retirement
Mrs Walda Wortmann joined our school 18 years ago as a Grade 2 teacher. She has always had a passion to help children who battle educationally.
Fifteen years ago, Mrs Wortmann was charged with creating and managing the learning support centre at Christ Church, a task she eagerly accepted. Today, the Edunique centre consists of four learning support specialists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and educational psychologists.
Mrs Wortmann is described as a mentor, leader, school mother and friend. She has a passion for the pupils who passed through her hands and she has always fought to have their needs take priority. Her vast knowledge of learning challenges and guidance on how to assist pupils presenting challenges, has been most valuable to all who worked with her, staff, parents and pupils. She has made a real difference to countless children who have passed through our school over the years. Mrs Wortmann lives out our school motto ‘To Serve and to Lead’ in a very real way.
We wish her a wonderful retirement filled with family time, relaxation and blessings. May you enjoy this new path in your life, we will miss you immensely!
“We have different gifts, according to the grace given to us.” ~ Romans 12:6
