Lenasia Muslim School was selected to partake in the “I am the Future” event
The MMC of Development Planning in the City of Johannesburg, Thapelo Amad launched his legacy campaign “I am the future” at the Wanderers Cricket grounds on the 21st June. This campaign seeks to expose young people to opportunities they would normally struggle to get. Alhamdulillah, Lenasia Muslim School was selected to partake in this amazing event. Ml Ahmed Sameer Lombard and Mr Azhar Casoo represented the school as our learners were involved with examinations.
“The campaign aimed at identifying learners from various backgrounds so that they can take advantage of their future and the best way to do that, was to create opportunities for our young people”, Amad said. Young learners from various schools stepped up to address the audience with Aseel Peer and Bibi Fathima Ebrahim having presented their speeches virtually as it was played on the big screen. Another learner Tasmiyah Wadiwala wrote out her inspirational message to her fellow youth.

This event, being the first of many to come will help give our learners opportunities to grow and rub shoulders with some very influential individuals in the City of Johannesburg. We are grateful to have received some electronic devices which will be distributed to some of our learners. Lenasia Muslim School thanks the MMC and all role players for allowing us the opportunity to be part of this great initiative, we look forward in assisting and taking part in this new venture for the benefit of our youth.
