Parktown High School for Girls host Woman’s Day assembly
On 2 August the History Department from Parktown High School for Girls hosted a Women’s Day Assembly. Their guest speaker was LeAnne Dlamini who is founder of Life Designed By Her and #ENDGIRLHATE and #WOMEN4WOMEN. Ms Dlamini spoke to the learners about the importance of self-belief and sisterhood and even treated the girls to a song.
Ms Dlamini emphasized things like using social media to impact rather than impress; lifting others up allows us all to rise up; celebrating others achievements (being inspired by each other) and collaboration over competition. She also reminded us that you become the average of the five girls closest to you and that ‘mean’ girls go far in high school but nice girls go far in life. Her message was inspiring and a wonderful way to start Women’s Month.
