Parktown High School for Girls gymnast makes huge comeback after injury
Caitlin Rooskrantz from Parktown High School for Girls was invited to the South African Gymnastics Federations Awards for 2018 and won the Senior Gymnast of the year.
Caitlin sat out most of 2017 due to serious knee surgery, but made an exceptional come back in 2018. After not being selected for the Commonwealth Games team due to still recovering from her injury, she persevered and became Senior National Champion for 2018. She also competed at the African Championships where she contributed to the team silver as well as winning gold on uneven bars for the second consecutive year.
Her biggest highlight for the year was that she placed the highest of any African competitor at the World Championships in Qatar. An exciting 2019 is ahead for Caitlin with qualification for the 2020 Olympic Games placing high on her list of priorities.
