Geography learners from Parktown High School for Girls produce excellent results at SA Olympiad
Twenty Geography learners from Parktown High School for Girls took part in the South African National Geography Olympiad in May. 1301 learners entered from around the country. Parktown Girls were so pleased with the learners who entered, especially the Grade 10’s, for which the content was a bit challenging.
The school is especially proud of the following girls who achieved gold, silver and bronze certificates:
Anna Conradie – Gold (top 5%)
Holly Cooper – Silver (top 10%)
Georgia Shear and Jessica Davidson – Bronze (top 15%)
The questions were not only based on the school curricula, but general knowledge about global issues and communities, famous geographic landmarks, and current affairs. Parktown High School for Girls hope to see even more girls participating in the years to come!
