Cape Recife High School open their hearts to those in need
During these past months under lockdown, a group of the staff living on the grounds gathered on Saturday mornings to make sandwiches for a group of charities feeding indigent persons as far afield as Thornhill.
The group donated bread and spreads and prepared an average of 20 to 25 loaves every Saturday.
This Saturday, in remembrance of Mandela Day, the group decided to up the sandwiches to at least 67 loaves. The rest of the staff pitched in as well, donating loaves of bread and non-perishable goods, making our weekly contribution a magnificent one far in excess of 67 loaves, spreading the love to our usual charities and the MTR Smit children’s home.
