Recognition for sports teams: Clarendon High School for Girls’ 1st hockey team
This season was an exciting one as the young Clarendon 1st hockey team was looking forward to the annual St Mary’s Hockey festival and the National All Girls festival hosted this year by Eunice. The girls were lucky enough to still participate in the Greg Beling hockey festival. The team had a great festival only narrowly losing to Voortrekker 1-0 and then going on to beat Framesby 13-0, beat Pearson in a very intense and spirit filled game 4-0 and beat Eldoraine 5-1.
Lauren Tarr the 1st team Captain has said that given these tough circumstances, the year isn’t over and everyone should remain positive. Our grade 11s, 10s and our little grade 9 can look forward to next year and making our school proud on the turf. To the matrics we can always play hockey in the future, don’t let this ruin your whole year, stay fit and healthy.
The Clarendon hockey team is still working hard everyday and they long for the day they are back on our Astro playing hockey together as a team.
