Clarendon High School for Girls’ awesome rowing team excel
On the weekend of the 5th – 6th October the Clarendon rowing crews from all age groups competed in the Knysna Regatta, which took place at the Belvedere Estate in Knysna. The following results were achieved:
The U.15’s placed 1st in quad sprint with a crew comprised of Sivu Mtumane, Dominique Sedras, Lia Milne, Tanna Diplock and Latita Ngele (cox) and 2nd in quad sprint with a crew comprised of Likhona Qwesha, Jessie Boettger, Luka Bam, Liyakhanya Jezile and Heike Buchner (cox). A composite crew placed 3rd in quad sprint with crew consisting of Ntokozo Mtwa, Uyasiva Lugqola and crew members from PGRC.
- The U.15’s placed 1st in the Oct sprint and 1st in the 6km Oct race with a crew comprised of Heike Buchner, Emma Connellan, Payton Jeffries, Rachel Krause, Luka Bam, Tanna Diplock, Lia Milne, Dominique Sedras and Ntokozo Mtwa (cox).
- The U16s placed 1st place in the quad sprint and 2nd place in the four sprints with the crew consisting of Milani Madala, Angie Pretorius, Shannon Bartlett, Jasmin Stubbs and Eden Deutschmann. (Milani coxed the quad race, Angie coxed the four race).
- U.19’s won 1st place in the 2nd U.19 quad race with a crew consisting of Demi Maker, Cherise Dicke, Isobel Bartlett, Vavetshka van Rooi and Nikita van Rooi (cox) and placed 1st in the fours sprint race with a crew consisting of Cherise Dicke, Demi Maker, Abigayle Day, Macayla Potgieter and Rachel Forsyth (cox).
The U.19’s placed 1st place in the 6km eights race with a crew consisting of Macayla Potgieter, Liyabona Myataza, Amy Newy, Megan Moulang, Nikita van Rooi, Abigail Van Der Merwe, Jasmine Stubbs, Shannon Bartlett and Charlotte Green (cox) and placed 2nd place in the Women’s open eights sprint with the crew consisting of Demi Maker, Cherise Dicke, Macayla Potgieter, Liyabona Myataza, Amy Newy, Nikita van Rooi, Megan Moulang, Vavetshka van Rooi, Isobel Bartlett and Rachel Forsyth (cox).
