Congratulations on being selected as a leader at your school. What are you looking forward to the most during your term as leader? I am looking forward to all the fun events and projects we’ll do and just for our RCL team to work and grow together during the process.

What are your strengths and weaknesses? My biggest strength is that I am a genuinely understanding person because I always try to put myself in other people’s shoes because we all have different perspectives on certain things in life. I am really nonchalant so many people see me as trustworthy and reliable, so they feel comfortable to speak and open up to me.

My weakness is that I tend to overwork myself sometimes without breaks or taking time to myself which does affect one’s mental health, but I have been working on and getting better at it.

Is there anything you would like to change at your school? There’s nothing in particular I would change except just working as a student council to better our school in all ways and achieve our vision and mission for 2022.

What do you love the most about your school? When I entered Vredenburg High in grade 8, I loved the diversity of students and how respective my school was of everybody’s culture.

Matric is your final year, from an academic point of view, what are you aiming for? Throughout the year, I want to work hard to achieve distinctions and aim to be one of my school’s A-candidates in matric.

What will your message of encouragement be for your prefects/co-leaders? I want my fellow RCL’s to know that I will not walk in front of them, but beside them as we work together to achieve our vision and goals. As challenging some parts of the year might become, just relax and stay positive because I believe a positive mindset brings positive things.

Who is your role model? My mother has been my inspiration for as long as I can remember. Her kind heart and dedication to help others has always stood out to me.

What are your plans after matric in 2023? This is quite difficult to answer because I honestly am not sure yet but I do plan to start a small business while still being in school. Then after school I would like to try something spontaneous like becoming a flight attendant or maybe even modelling because both will give me the opportunity to travel. During those years, I want to study online at the same time too so that I could have a profession to get back to after flight attending or modelling as well as still have my small business on the side. It seems a bit hectic but it’s not impossible.

If you could be any superhero, who do you want to be and why? Undoubtedly Saiki Kusuo from one of my favourite anime, “The Disastrous Life of Saiki K”. Saiki is a teenager who was born with telekinesis, levitation, x-ray vision, clairvoyance, astral projection, pyrokinesis, mind control, psychometrics, and invisibility which he tries to hide to seem normal. Some believe his character is overpowered but he’s a psychic so there’s nothing less to expect. Saiki has many friends, a loving family, cool powers and even has the prettiest girls at his school crushing on him but he ignores these and strives to be the most average person alive. If I were to be a superhero I would choose Saiki K because of how chilled his character is while still using his amazing abilities to help others.

On a regular Saturday, you will find me at…with… On a regular Saturday, you will find me out having fun with my closest friends or at home taking some quality time for myself to study and do things I enjoy such as paint, binge shows, etc.

Who is your Hollywood celeb crush? I am absolutely obsessed with the iconic singer, Billie Eilish. Everything about her music, style and personality is just immaculate.
