We look back on our winter sport season for 2022 and share Merrifield Prep and College first teams.
1st Team Netball:
The Westering High School sports festival in Gqeberha during the June holidays was one of the highlights this year. The girls have shown tremendous growth and development during this season. Their fitness levels have grown immensely thus allowing them to compete competitively during matches.

From the left: Emihle Rayi, Michaela Jobert, Milisa Baleni, Jany Wood, Kelsea Frachet, Tiri Nhawu, Teneal Grundlingh, Sibabalwe Mni, Mindi Van Zyl, Amele Majiza, Alexa Potgieter and Zizikazi Bidla.
The 2022 hockey season was the most successful hockey season for both our girls and boys 1st teams. We co-hosted the annual Gregg Beiling and Tony Godding hockey festivals where our 1st team boys and girls showed a good account of themselves, as always great exposure for our school and our Astro turf. We were then off to Oakhill in Knsyna, where our boys remained unbeaten throughout the festival. Our first ever wins for our girls against GHS and Cambridge, and for our boys against Cambridge, Hudson and Queens acknowledges the successful season we had. An enjoyable Westering festival in PE during the school holidays where the girls recorded some excellent results, was the key to their success in the 3rd term. Notably the 1st team boys ended up 24th in the country in the 1st team boys hockey rankings compiled by SuperSport Schools.
