We Won! The Marist Brothers Linmeyer High School Grade 9 Junior Debating Team qualified for the Finals of the Johannesburg South Debating League. They faced BESA at Glenanda Primary on the 17th May for this final round and they were named as the winners of the Junior League. The members of the team are:  Luthando Ntuli, Bohlale Sebesho, Nomalanga Dimbo with Kemedi Ledwaba as Chairperson and Masengo Kabwe as Timekeeper. Omolemo Lebethe (Grade 11) received 10th position of the Best Speaker Senior Division and 1st place went to Tia Nirghin (Grade 10).

In the Junior division, Best Speaker 1st place went to Bohlale Sebesho (Grade 9). Several schools from the area participated and, as a new league, we are extremely proud that our students fared so well! Our Grade 8 and 11 teams both made it to the Semi Finals while the Grade 10 team won their Play Off round after the Quarter Finals. Thank you to each and every student who participated in the Debating League this year. Seeing you grow and mature in your presentation, communication and cognitive skills has been a privilege. You have set a benchmark for our school and we can’t wait to see what the future holds for you!
