Maragon Mooikloof is thrilled to announce that Jae Lee Jaeyoung, a Grade 11 learner, has been awarded first place at the highly competitive Science Expo held at DSG St Mary’s. Jae’s innovative app, developed independently, impressed judges with its exceptional creativity, technical prowess, and sophisticated problem-solving capabilities.

This remarkable accomplishment highlights Jae’s significant talent and dedication, reflecting the high calibre of students nurtured at Maragon Mooikloof. His win at such a prestigious event underscores the school’s commitment to fostering innovation and excellence in science and technology among its learners.

“We are incredibly proud of Jae Lee Jaeyoung’s phenomenal achievement,” said Mr Pierre Labuschagne, Principal at Maragon Mooikloof. “His success at the DSG St Mary’s Science Expo is a testament to his hard work, ingenuity, and the supportive environment we strive to create at Maragon Mooikloof. Jae’s app is a brilliant example of how our students are empowered to think critically and develop practical solutions to real-world challenges.”

Jae’s winning project involved the creation of a unique application that addresses how individuals access critical emergency services. This forward-thinking application allows users to quickly send alerts and access help at the touch of a button, featuring real-time location sharing, immediate contact alerts, and an intuitive user interface built for fast action during crises. This project not only showcases significant technical skill but also a profound commitment to community safety, embodying a spirit of innovation and social responsibility. Jae’s ability to conceptualize, design, and execute such a sophisticated project at his age is truly inspiring.
