Petrus Swart, representing Super Seals under the guidance of coach Simon Gray, delivered a remarkable performance at the Durban Prestige Gala held from 9 to 13 July.

Competing in the under-10 category, Petrus scooped an impressive nine gold medals across a range of events. His victories came in the 50m and 100m freestyle, 50m and 100m backstroke, 50m and 100m butterfly, and the 200m individual medley. He also broke the 50m butterfly record by a phenomenal two seconds, further cementing his status as a rising star in the pool.

Adding to the memorable week, Petrus had the opportunity to meet his role model, Olympic gold medallist, Chad le Clos, and watched him compete at the same gala — an inspiring experience for the young swimmer.

With dedication, talent, and the right support, Petrus, is well on his way to making waves in South African swimming.
