Grantleigh Schools girls extend unbeaten cricket run with dominant victory

GrantleighcSchool’s Girls’ Cricket Team continued their impressive unbeaten season with a comprehensive victory over Hoërskool Richardsbaai, securing an eight-wicket win with 28 balls remaining. Bowling first, the match got off to the perfect start when Izzy Currie claimed a wicket with the opening delivery. Disciplined bowling and energetic fielding followed, as the team worked tirelessly in challenging heat to restrict the opposition to 79 for 2 after 20 overs.
Opening the batting, Izzy Currie and Skye du Pisanie produced a composed 70-run partnership, laying a solid foundation for the chase. Currie once again proved decisive with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 47 off 44 balls and hitting the winning runs for the second consecutive week. Despite a couple of late wickets, the result was never in doubt, highlighting the team’s growing confidence and consistency. The school congratulates the players and coaching staff on another outstanding performance, as the girls’ unbeaten season continues to gather momentum.
