Curro’s Class of 2025 Achieves Outstanding IEB Matric Results

Curro Holdings, South Africa’s leading independent education provider, has announced the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) matric results for the Class of 2025, reaffirming the Group’s commitment to quality education across its varied schooling models. The results reflect strong and consistent academic performance which confirms the effectiveness of its personalised, learner-centered approach to education.
Academic excellence at scale
In the 2025 IEB examinations, 2,694 Curro learners, achieved an impressive overall pass rate of 99.40%. Of these learners, 72.6% attained an average of 60% or higher, while 11.06% achieved an A average. Strong performances were recorded across key gateway subjects, including Mathematics, Physical Sciences and English, supporting learners’ access to a broad range of tertiary study and career pathways. Several of the Group’s schools also write the National Senior Certificate (NSC) examinations, with results scheduled for release on 13 January 2026.

Developing future-ready learners
Curro’s education model places strong emphasis on personalised learning pathways, leadership development, and meaningful co-curricular engagement which integrate impressive sport and culture programs with academic excellence. This ensures learners leave school with the skills, values and adaptability required to navigate the complex challenges of the 21st century.
A total of 303 learners (11.25%) of the Group’s IEB candidates achieved an A average. Twenty-two learners from Curro schools were acknowledged on the IEB Outstanding Achievement list. They achieved within the top 5% in six or more subjects, with a rating level of seven in Life Orientation, earning them a place on the IEB Commendable Achievement list. A total of 161 IEB Top 1% subject placements across Curro IEB schools were celebrated.
Loubser wished the Class of 2025 well as they move into the next phase of their journey. “These learners leave Curro with more than academic knowledge. They have developed problem-solving, collaboration and leadership skills that will enable them to contribute meaningfully to their communities and to South Africa’s broader economy. Curro remains committed to preparing young people who will innovate, lead, and make a difference,” he said.
