The new complex with netball and basketball courts, a cricket playing and practice area, volleyball courts, a football field, and a rugby field, reflect the school’s philosophy that academic excellence and physical development go hand in hand. This facility is not just about sport,’ said Dr Fannie Sebolela, Executive Head of Curro Soshanguve. ‘It is about giving every learner a space to discover who they are and to build discipline, resilience, and teamwork that will serve them long after they leave our school.’

The launch also highlighted the Pitso Mosimane Soccer Schools (PMSS) programme at Curro Soshanguve – a school-based development initiative unique to Curro schools. Rather than functioning as a traditional after-school club, PMSS integrates structured, professional coaching directly into the school day, delivering a CAPS-compliant physical education curriculum alongside an age-appropriate football programme led by trained, federation-accredited coaches. The programme gives young athletes a rare opportunity to develop technically without compromising academically, a balance that has often eluded school sports structures across the country.

Alongside the launch, the school welcomed families to an open day for Grades R to 7, offering prospective learners and their parents the chance to tour classrooms, meet teachers, and explore the school’s academic and extramural offerings for 2026. For many visitors, the gleaming new sports facility spoke louder than any brochure. With the sports complex now open and the PMSS partnership well-established, it is clear that Curro Soshanguve is delivering on their promise of holistic development.
