Crawford International La Lucia Campus united across its Pre-Primary, Preparatory, and College phases to participate in Flip Flop Day   a national initiative supporting children and teenagers diagnosed with childhood cancer.

With the inspiring slogan, “Every Pair has a Purpose,” students and staff purchased stickers and wore flip flops to school as a visible show of solidarity for beneficiaries of CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation South Africa.

Through the collective efforts of its school community, the campus proudly raised R13 000 in support of the cause! The funds will contribute towards the emotional, practical, and financial assistance provided to children undergoing cancer treatment and to their families during an incredibly challenging time.

The initiative symbolises walking alongside those affected by childhood cancer, reinforcing the message that no child should ever have to stand alone in their ‘sole’-ful quest to overcome the disease. Beyond fundraising, the day also served as a valuable lesson in empathy, social responsibility, and the power of community action.

The vibrant display of flip flops across the campus reflected more than school spirit – it reflected compassion in action. Crawford International La Lucia remains committed to initiatives that cultivate awareness and inspire learners to become responsible, caring citizens.

Flip Flop Day was a powerful reminder that when a community walks together with purpose, every step truly makes a difference.
