On Saturday, 8 March, 15 of Worcester Gymnasium’s chess players participated in the Cape Winelands Prestige tournament. We are proud of the following learners who were selected for the Cape Winelands Team:

• Lienka Viljoen (Top 15 – U15 girls)
• Ashlyn Jacobs (Top 15 – U15 girls)
• Coreta van Zyl (4th place – U17 girls)
• Verron Jansen (Top 15 – U17 boys)
• Malcolm de Wet (Top 15 – U19 boys)

We are exceptionally proud of Rafael Davids, who obtained 2nd place in the boys U19 category and Brevin Maree, who obtained 1st place. We wish these learners the best of luck with the Western Cape Individual Championship that will take place in April.
