About the author
Wendy Maartens grew up in Worcester and spent her school days in George. She currently lives in Melkbosstrand. Wendy is especially well-known for her amazing ability to blow new life into classic children’s stories, making them accessible and exciting to a new generation of readers. About the illustrator
From a very young age, Alex van Houwelingen was mad about drawing and art. After completing a course in Information Design at the University of Pretoria in 2006, he decided to pursue as career as freelance illustrator. He enjoys working in a variety of mediums, including watercolors, charcoal, pencils, oil paint, acrylics and pen and ink. Alex lives in Pretoria and is the proud father of two toddlers, Robin and Madelein.
