The benefits of a centralised communication hub
Being able to communicate effectively is crucial in the school environment and with multiple communication channels available, it becomes easy to lose track of the conversations. With some information shared through instant messaging, Zoom, MS Teams, while other files are sent via email, and yet further conversations completed with texts, it is easy to see how vital communications can get lost.
One way to deal with this issue is to use a centralised communication hub.
The AWSUM App for Schools has been built to address this need at schools.
What is centralised communication?
Centralised communication involves all stakeholders (parents, teachers, and learners) being connected to a central hub, which stores all the communications in one place, including all the necessary documentation and information.
It allows communication to be compartmentalised into subjects and groups within the school and can even be broken down into sub-sections so that each conversation is tracked and maintained efficiently, including all relevant documentation.
The benefits of centralised communication are numerous, and include:
- Everyone is on the same page: With emails flying back and forth it is so easy to miss that crucial communication. With a centralised system no one misses the information and all relevant files are saved in one easy-to-access area. All stakeholders are constantly up to date with the latest conversation, documentation, and information. This translates to everyone always being up to date on all communication.
- With a centralised communication hub, you can create custom audiences to pass specific information on to with the AWSUM Chat feature. Only those who need information will receive it. E.g. communicating only with your choir members in one chat group on the AWSUM App.
- Ease of sharing documentation: When a teacher shares a document via centralised communication systems, it remains on the app. It becomes not only easier to share documentation, but also to access the correct file. It also means that everyone has the most up-to-date copies of all communications.
- Storing files and pertinent information, with reference to your grade and subject, can mean it will take a while to track certain documents when you need them. Add in other forms of communication, such as instant messaging, email, etc, and it can be quite a task to find exactly what you are looking for. Using a centralised communication hub means that every relevant piece of information for every grade, subject or conversation, can be stored right where you can find it. You don’t have to second guess what file it is in, what communication channel you have used, or what name you have used for the file.
The aim of the AWSUM App for Schools is to ensure clarity of information and thus pave the way for a clutter-free school environment. The journey to get there should be as straightforward as possible.
Being in the school industry for almost 10 years, we understand the frustrations school are dealing with.
