New features on the AWSUM App
In June 2018, we embarked on a roadshow across the country to speak to schools to understand how they communicate with families and frustrations in the school sector.
We learned that schools’ only focus is on making communication meaningful. We’ve spent the months afterwards building a platform to address this and were thrilled to officially announce the launch not only the launch of www.awsumnews.co.za but also the launch of the AWSUM App for Schools.
Since the launch of the AWSUM App, we are inspired by the creative ways schools across the country were using the AWSUM App for Schools.
It showed us that meaningful communication was possible. It was not always easy. Schools struggled to involve hard-to-reach families, teachers needed more flexibility and spent hours documenting communication.
This year, we are introducing three features that bring us closer to our shared goal of making communication meaningful.
- First, we’re introducing the group chat feature.
- Later this year, we will be launching direct link notifications where your notification will click through to the file or photo album you are sharing.
- The ability for parents and learners to access the AWSUM App on the web and desktop is part of a larger plan to make the AWSUM App more accessible for more people.
We’re incredibly excited about these three features.
