What happens when talented girls are given the time, encouragement and expertise to pursue their passion for music… Magic!

Music Over Maritzburg 2026 was more than a display of music. It was a celebration of hours of practice, dedicated teachers who believe in every girl’s potential, and young musicians discovering what they are capable of when they work together. From our little Grade 1s to accomplished Grade 12 performers, our stage came alive with choirs, string ensembles, wind ensembles, bands and soloists, each contributing to something far greater than themselves.

At The Wykeham Collegiate, music is not an “extra”. It is part of a dynamic, well-rounded education where girls are encouraged to explore their talents. They learn discipline, collaboration, confidence and creativity; skills that will serve them long after they leave our gates.

To the girls who performed, and to the teachers who inspire excellence while nurturing a genuine love for music, thank you for reminding us of the extraordinary things that happen when passion meets opportunity.
