Milnerton High School are incredibly proud to celebrate the outstanding achievement of one of their learners, Shaurya Singh (grade 8). Shaurya recently secured 1st place in the Under-14 Open Section at the 2026 South African Junior Closed Chess Championship, held in Rustenburg, North West. Competing against a highly competitive field of 79 players from all nine provinces, Shaurya delivered an exceptional performance, finishing with an impressive 8.5 out of 9 points.

This remarkable accomplishment has earned him federation colours, and he will go on to represent South Africa in upcoming international tournaments. We congratulate Shaurya on this incredible milestone and look forward to following his continued success on the international stage!
